THE CHALLENGE

The Law Brothers needed to transition to Workato to handle a complex automation between Filevine and Lead Docket.

With multiple moving parts and system dependencies, this wasn’t a simple plug-and-play setup — it required deep understanding of both platforms’ APIs.

Because Vineskills has an in-house Lead Docket team, collaboration between teams made it possible to fully understand the API structure and plan a scalable automation framework.

But their Filevine Admin, Yasmeen, wanted more than just an out-of-the-box solution; she wanted to learn how to design, build, and maintain automations herself. The goal became twofold: implement the automation, and empower the internal team to own it going forward.

To meet both needs, Vineskills designed a hands-on training and implementation plan. Yasmeen and the Vineskills consultant met weekly to co-build the Filevine-to-Lead Docket automation over a couple of weeks, breaking down each step in the process.

THE SOLUTION

Weekly build and test sessions

Step-by-step explanationsof Workato’s workflow logic

Training on best practices, error handling, and testing

A role reversal where Yasmeen gradually took the lead in building new automations, while Vineskills provided guidance and advanced troubleshooting support

This blended model not only achieved the immediate technical goal but also fostered long-term skill development for Yasmeen, taking her from a beginner into an automation pro with the confidence to build independently.
